  Unforgettable Experience with Lone Ridge Outfitters! My wife, Nydia, and I recently had the pleasure of going on an elk hunt with Lone Ridge Outfitters (LRO) in northeastern Utah, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Nydia had drawn the Limited Entry Bull Elk Rifle tag, and we couldn’t have asked for a better team to guide us through the rugged terrain and challenging elk hunting conditions. The hunt proved even more challenging due to a nearby wildfire, which increased the elk's anxiety and drastically increased the amount of hiking required to reach the elk. The adventure was exhilarating! Our guide, Kevin, was incredibly knowledgeable but also patient and dedicated. He ensured we had multiple opportunities by putting us on several bulls. The public land we hunted on offered stunning views and plenty of game, but the attention to detail from LRO made all the difference. From scouting locations to expertly navigating the hunt, Kevin worked tirelessly to help Nydia get her first bull elk. She decided on a beautiful bull after some intense moments in the field, and the moment she took the shot was something we’ll never forget. The pack-out was unbelievably tough, with long hikes and heavy loads, but the camaraderie and professionalism of the LRO team made even the most challenging parts of the hunt enjoyable. Lone Ridge Outfitters went above and beyond to ensure we had the experience of a lifetime, and we couldn’t have done it without them. This hunt wasn’t just about getting an elk—it was about connecting with nature, testing our limits, and sharing it all with a team that felt like family.   Was excited to go on my first Utah Turkey hunt. I tagged along with some friends who booked Lone Ridge Outfitters to guide us on our first trip out. The price was very reasonable at $200 per day (is what we were told) with no minimum day requirement. As it turns out, "a day" to them is from 5:30 am to 10:00 am...that's it. That's not even my biggest complaint. When you book an outfitter you expect them to be prepared (knowing about road closures, are the birds being vocal, weather conditions, where the birds are roosting or approximate areas, etc..) What we got was two guides who had no idea where the birds were. Had no idea certain roads were closed. They just seemed to take us to spots they may have taken birds in the past and hoping they were there. Then they took us on joy rides up and down canyons "road hunting" hoping to see something. Then had the audacity to call it a day after their futile attempts to find birds failed. While expecting full payment for the "day". After talking with them they agreed to drop the price down from $200 per person to $100 per person which was still grossly overcharging for the poor experience that we received. Now I don't say this was a poor experience because we didn't get a bird. I've had plenty of hunting trips going home empty handed and still had a fantastic time. I say all this because of how poorly prepared they were, and the expectation to pay full price after wasting our time driving up and down three different canyons. I do not recommend working with Lone Ridge Outfitters. They clearly were looking to make a quick buck off of my group of first time turkey hunters.

  Had a great successful spring Turkey hunt with Steve. Very accommodating, flexible, responsive and meets hunters needs. Would absolutely recommend and will book with Steve again for fall hunting.

  Had an amazing hunt with Steve. He set it all up and I executed the kill. The guy was relentless in helping me track the animal. These folks are solid, down to earth people. I highly recommend Steve and his business. He goes the extra several miles.
